چکیده
Background When exclusive breastfeeding is not possible, partially hydrolyzed formula (PHF) often used as a starter for infants. Some children develop allergic symptoms, including anaphylaxis, after the first intake of cow protein. Therefore, tolerability PHF in infants with cow's milk allergy (CMA) important information. Partially whey (PHWF) well characterized, but those containing both and casein are also available. We evaluated characteristics two PHFs, PHF1 PHF2, vitro ex vivo , compared them PHWF, PHWF1. Methods Residual antigenicity β-lactoglobulin (β-LG) formulas was measured using ELISA. The molecular weight profile determined high-pressure liquid chromatography. IgE reactivity allergenic activity were by ImmunoCAP inhibition assay basophil activation test blood from patients CMA, respectively. Results All participants ( n = 10) had casein-specific IgE. β-LG similar to that PHWF1, it slightly higher than PHWF1 casein. However, ability activate basophils. PHF2 lower β-LG, Conclusion These results suggest CMA respectively, degree binding PHFs does necessarily correspond activation.

Avoidance of hydrolyzed casein by mice.
When casein, a milk protein, is hydrolyzed, it renders human foods that contain it (e.g., hypoallergenic infant formula, cheeses) distasteful to many people. This rejection of hydrolyzed casein (HC)-containing foods has recently been found to also occur in a non-human species (deer, Odocoileus spp.). Identifying other animals that avoid HC would facilitate understanding how and why HC-containin...
متن کاملconstruction and validation of the translation teacher competency test and the scale of students’ perceptions of translation teachers
the major purpose of this study was to develop the translation teacher competency test (ttct) and examine its construct and predictive validity. the present study was conducted in two phases: a qualitative phase as well as a quantitative phase. in the first phase of the study, the author attempted to find out the major areas of competency required for an academic translation teacher. the second...
Basophil Markers for Identification and Activation in the Indirect Basophil Activation Test by Flow Cytometry for Diagnosis of Autoimmune Urticaria
BACKGROUND The indirect basophil activation test using flow cytometry is a promising tool for autoimmune urticaria diagnosis. We aimed to identify better donor basophils (from atopic vs. non-atopic donors and interleukin-3 primed vs. unprimed basophils) and improve basophil identification and activation markers (eotaxin CC chemokine receptor-3 [CCR3] vs. CD123 and CD63 vs. CD203c). METHODS Do...
متن کاملA systematic review of the role of hydrolyzed infant formulas in allergy prevention.
OBJECTIVE To critically examine the published literature to determine whether feeding hydrolyzed infant formulas from birth has a role in allergy prevention. DATA SOURCES We identified data through a MEDLINE search using allergy prevention and infant formulas as indexing terms. The search was restricted to 1985 through the present, English-language articles, and human subjects. STUDY SELECT...
